Sabbath School Mission Story – Fourth Quarter 2022 (Download PDF)

This quarter we feature the South Pacific Division, which oversees the Seventh-day Adventist Church’s work in American Samoa, Australia, the Cook Islands, Fiji, French Polynesia, Kiribati, Nauru, New Caledonia, New Zealand, Niue, Papua New Guinea, Pitcairn, Samoa, the Solomon Islands, Tokelau, Tonga, Tuvalu, Vanuatu, and the Wallis and Futuna Islands. God is doing amazing things in this region of 40.5 million people with 518,016 Adventists, or a ratio of one Adventist for 70 people, an increase from one Adventist for 78 people three years ago.

The South Pacific Division has two Thirteenth Sabbath projects this quarter. One of the projects is to establish Hope Channel television and Hope FM Radio in Papua New Guinea. The other project is under the auspices of the division and aims to produce King’s Kids Discipleship Series, five children’s series of 13 episodes each for broadcast and digital platforms worldwide.

Guide Achievement Class is the first class in a Pathfinder Club that Develop leadership potential.

The Objectives are:

Provide a climate for fellowship and acceptance
Choose a Christian lifestyle
Learn to evaluate life and its meaning from the Christian perspective

General Requirements are:

  1. Be a teenager 15 years of age, and/or in Grade 10 or its equivalent.
  2. Know and understand the AY Legion of Honor.
  3. Be an active member of Pathfinder Club.
  4. Select and read one book of your choice from the Teen Book Club list, plus a book on local church history ( select book for your division or country).

Voyager Achievement Class is the first class in a Pathfinder Club that Develop leadership potential.

The Objectives are:

General Requirements are:

  1. Be a teenager 14 years of age, and/or in grade 9 or its equivalent.
  2. Through memorization and discussion, explain the meaning of the Adventist Youth Pledge.
  3. Be an active member of Pathfinders.
  4. Select and read three books of your choice from the Teen Book Club list.

Ranger Achievement Class is the fourth class in a Pathfinder Club that Develop leadership potential.

The Objectives are:

Choose a Christian lifestyle.
Learn to evaluate life and its meaning from the Christian perspective.

General Requirements are:

  1. Be a teenager 13 years of age, and/or in Grade 8 or its equivalent.
  2. Memorize and understand the Adventist Youth Aim and Motto.
  3. Be an active member of the Pathfinder Club.
  4. Select and read three books of your choice from the teen Book Club List.

Pathfinder Club: Explorer Achievement Class – Curriculum Requirement & Developed Resources (PDF)

Explorer Achievement Class is the first class in a Pathfinder Club that provide opportunities for the juniors to learn that God loves and cares for all people.

The Objectives are:


To help them to realize that Christ is the greatest revelation of God.
To encourage an awareness within the juniors that the church is interested in them as individuals.
To allow for personal growth and development through interpersonal relationships within selected
activities.
To enlarge their vision of the needs of their community and to help them find ways of attending to
these needs.
To assist them in developing a desire for achievement in all their work

General Requirements are:

  1. Be 12 years old and/or in Grade 7 or its equivalent.
  2. Be an active member of the AJY Society and Pathfinder Club.
  3. Learn or review the meaning of the Pathfinder Law and demonstrate your understanding by participating in one of the following: role play, panel discussion, essay, or prepare a project of your choice.
  4. Read the book “The Happy Path” if not previously read.
  5. Have a current Book Club Certificate and write at least a paragraph of review on each book.
